Mother's Day Breakfast

The moms of the parish were treated to a big breakfast cooked by the men and children. It was such a treat!

While the food and fellowship was wonderful, the best part was watching the guys do the dishes!

Mad Hatter Luncheon

The Ladies braved rain and wind to have lunch on a blustery first day of Spring at Brookwood Community Cafe.  The food was great and the fellowship was even better.

The hats speak for themselves.

With all the cameras, we didn't know where to look or when to stop talking.

We did have the chance to shop after lunch and dessert.  Brookwood never disappoints with the array of goodies available for purchase. 

Wii Bowling Tournament Highlights

St. Matthias hosted a Wii Family night bowling tournament. After setting up two projectors and two gaming systems and setting our teams and brackets, we were bowling.

The competition was stiff - young and old pitted against one another for the ultimate bowling championship. Father Jason pulled out all the tricks in his wii bag.

Little Maggie wasn't going to be fooled by his "tips".


But Father Jason's tricks, tips and special moves were a wii bit short. Royce Ann schooled all of us by bowling a nearly perfect game.

279! One spare and the rest were strikes! She bowled eight strikes in a row!


She won this snazzy t-shirt as a prize.

Thanks to everyone who bowled, brought snacks and drinks and purchased pizza for our hungry crew. If you weren't there, you missed some great sweet treats as well. We give thanks to God for the ability to have this bowling tournament, for the safe travel to and from the church for our bowlers, and for the fun time of fellowship.

p.s. Royce Ann continued to demonstrate her superior Wii bowling abilities over the weekend and reported on Sunday that she bowled a perfect 300 on Saturday! The Cathedral Auxiliary thinks the t-shirt gave her that extra "something" to put her over the top.

Celebrate the first day of Spring and join us for lunch at Brookwood. Wear your favorite spring hat. Please RSVP no later than Sat, Mar 6. Contact Donna Bayhi if you would like to carpool.

Bring a brunch dish to share and help us plan the calendar for the rest of the year.

Join us for swimming and backyard fun. We’ll grill burgers and dogs. Don’t forget to bring your towel, your favorite drink and a yummy side dish to share.

Shopping in Brenham

The ladies carpooled to Brenham to see what treasures we could find. We thought it wise to plan on lunch and ice cream early....a gal needs her strength to shop.

Taking a rest....are those comfy shoes in that bag?

The weather was nice just long enough to have a great day!

No we didn't need a U-Haul to bring back all our new treasures, but somebody might have had to ride home on top of the car.
